Following the dispatch of a technical team from Air Mauritius to Réunion Island last night, the aircraft 3B-NBU has been successfully repaired at around 03:00 this morning. The plane flew back to Mauritius at noon and has made two rotations on La Réunion. A total of approximately 400 passengers has been uplifted on the Réunion–Mauritius route throughout the day on Saturday, 02 August.
Regarding aircraft 3B-NCL, which remains grounded in Mumbai, the replacement part has been sent on a Vistara flight this morning and was delivered this evening. After customs clearance, which is expected to take between two to three hours, the repair process is estimated to last around four hours. A departure from Mumbai to Mauritius is tentatively scheduled for 06:30 on Sunday 03 August, with an expected arrival in Mauritius at 10:45, local time on the same day.
As a result of these disruptions, flight MK646 (Mauritius–Kuala Lumpur), originally scheduled to depart at 22h55 on Sunday 03 August, will now depart on Monday 04 August at 12h45 local time.
Flight MK016 (Mauritius–Paris Charles de Gaulle), originally scheduled to depart at 08h55 on Sunday 03 August, will now depart at 02h30 on Monday 04 August.
Air Mauritius sincerely apologises to all its passengers for the inconvenience caused by these technical issues and thanks them for their patience and understanding.
