Power Bank Policy on Air Mauritius Flights
In light of recent industry developments concerning isolated incidents involving power banks and a global recall of certain models, Air Mauritius has updated its policy to further ensure the safety of all its passengers.
Effective 01 September 2025, the following guidelines will apply to the carriage and use of power banks on all Air Mauritius flights:
• Quantity & Capacity: Passengers may carry one power bank with a capacity not exceeding 100 Watt Hours (Wh). The capacity rating must be clearly visible on the device.
• Checked Baggage: Carriage of power banks in checked-in baggage is strictly prohibited.
• In-flight Storage: Power banks must be stored safely during the flight, either in your handbag placed under the seat in front of you or in the seat pocket during the flight.
• Overhead Compartments: Power banks should not be stored in bags in the overhead compartments.
• Usage Restrictions: Power banks must not be used to charge personal devices during the flight.
• Charging Restrictions: Charging power banks using the aircraft’s power supply is not permitted.
In case of doubt, passengers are invited to seek guidance from the staff at the check-in counter or ask for advice from the cabin crew.
Air Mauritius thanks all passengers for their understanding and cooperation as the airline remains committed to upholding the highest standards of safety on board.
